A method for providing a ring back tone plus service in a mobile communication network and a system thereof are provided to enable a call sending side subscriber to continuously maintain a connected call by allocating a new resource and providing a basic ring back tone service in case that a muting phenomenon occurs by an abnormal reproduction process. A method for providing a ring back tone plus service in a mobile communication network comprises the following several steps. A service sound source file is made and is registered at an NAS(Network Attached Storage). The registered service sound source file is reproduced if a sending side mobile communication terminal requests a call connection, and it is checked whether there occurs a muting phenomenon caused by an abnormal reproduction while the ring back tone plus service is being provided(S215). If there occurs the muting phenomenon, a new resource is allocated before recorded greetings are terminated and then a basic ring back tone service is provided for the sending side mobile communication terminal until a call connection is implemented(S219,S221).
