摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of a slip between a pulley and a belt without excessively increasing the belt clamping force even if a change is generated in the transmission torque when tires slip. <P>SOLUTION: The belt-type continuously variable transmission for a vehicle has a metal V-belt mechanism 10 structured by stretching a metal V-belt 15 between a drive side and a driven side movable pulleys 11 and 16, a starting clutch 5 arranged in an output side of the transmission, and a drive side cylinder chamber 14 and a driven side cylinder chamber 19 for clamping the belt with both the pulleys 11 and 19. An output of an engine E is continuously shifted by the metal V-belt mechanism 10, and while transmitted to driving wheels through the starting clutch 5. When the driving wheels run without generating a slip, clamping force is computed in response to the input torque input from the engine to the continuously variable transmission CVT, and when the driving wheels slip, clamping force is computed in response to a larger one of the input torque input from the engine to the continuously variable transmission CVT and the transmission torque capacity of the clutch. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p>
