PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video storage device and a moving image reading method for accurately reproducing partial viewing and listening of a moving image required by a viewer. SOLUTION: The video storage device is provided with an operation analyzing means for analyzing the procedure and/or history of a reproduction operation performed through an operation inputting part and generating reproduced information, and a reproduced information utilizing means for continuously reading effective reproduced portions in video and/or sound information by using the reproduced information without overlapping the reproduced portions.
