A portable multimedia player is provided to comprise a DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) receiving unit which receives DMB, thus a user is able to watch or record the DMB regardless of time and space. A DMB receiving unit(120) receives a DMB signal, and demodulates the DMB signal. An image signal processor(170) processes an image signal of the demodulated DMB signal, and outputs the processed signal to a display(171). A voice signal processor(160) processes a voice signal of the demodulated DMB signal, and outputs the processed signal to a speaker(161). A DMB storage records the demodulated DMB signal. A CODEC(COder DECoder) program storage stores a CODEC program. A controller(210) codes the demodulated DMB signal through a CODEC program(153a) to record the coded signal in the storage device, and decodes the coded DMB signal to output the decoded signal to the image signal processor(170) and the voice signal processor(160).
