The element has a main body provided with an arbor hole that is driven along a drive axle. The main body is made of a silicon based crystalline material e.g. single-crystal silicon. The main body has a shape of clock hand. The main body has an upper surface which comprises geometrical relief patterns. The main body is provided with a coating which is made of metal, where the coating is deposited according to chemical or physical vapor deposition techniques. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an analog display element of a timepiece.
