PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display which prevents the coupling defect and the stripe defect, and can be driven at a high speed. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display includes a plurality of pixels PX arranged in a matrix shape, a switching element Q connected to each pixel PX, data lines D<SB>1a</SB>to D<SB>6b</SB>and gate lines connected to the switching elements, and a data driver generating data voltages and applying the data voltages to the data lines D<SB>1a</SB>to D<SB>6b</SB>. The data lines D<SB>1a</SB>to D<SB>6b</SB>are disposed at both sides of the pixels in pairs, and data voltages of the same magnitude but with different polarities are applied to the pairs of data lines D<SB>1a</SB>to D<SB>6b</SB>.
