An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent generation of static electricity by increasing an area where a transparent electrode pattern overlaps a common line. A first substrate includes a display area and a non-display area around the display area, and includes a pad part at one side of the non-display area. A common line(120) is formed in the non-display region including the pad part. A gate insulating layer(140) and a passivation layer(142) include a plurality of contact portions thereof, and are formed on an entire surface of the substrate including the common line. A first transparent electrode pattern(138b) has a width greater than that of the common line so as to be connected to the common line through the contact hole on the communication line of the pad part. The first transparent electrode pattern functions as an auto probe pad electrically connected to a probe of the auto probe part when lighting is tested before a product is released. |
