A bonnet for an automobile, having an outer made from FRP and an inner made from FRP and joined to the back-surface side of the outer, wherein the outer has a high-rigidity section having a rigidity higher than a rigidity of the central section of the outer along an outer edge of the outer, and the inner is joined to the outer at the high-rigidity section. While being achieved an advantage of weight lightening of the bonnet by making it from FRP, the rigidity at a required portion is efficiently increased without damaging moldability, a design feature of the bonnet surface can be maintained at a good level, and in addition, performance of the bonnet relating to the protection of a pedestrian at a collision accident etc. can also be sufficiently enhanced.
