A speed sensor for a vehicle is provided to regulate an air gap between a target gear and a sensor rod by adjusting the length of the sensor rod according to the increase and decrease of a radius of the target gear. In a speed sensor(2) installed at an output part of a transmission of a vehicle to detect the rotational speed of a target gear, the length of a sensor rod(6) inserted into a transmission case(20) is varied. The sensor rod is combined to a body unit(4) to vary the length according to fastening or unfastening of a nut(16). In particular, the sensor rod is joined to a cylindrical member(10) protruded at the lower side of the body unit through a male screw unit(18) formed in the middle, and moved vertically. The male screw unit is joined to the nut rotatably combined to the end of the cylindrical member. |
