PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an inexpensive optical waveguide by a resin layer by forming the resin layer without using a substrate, and to provide the inexpensive optical waveguide manufactured by it. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the inexpensive optical waveguide comprises sucking and adhering a polymer film 12 being a clad layer on a fixing fixture 10, manufacturing a two-layer polymer film 18 by curing to uniformly apply a core layer 14 and a polymer resin thereon, next, dividing the core layer 14 with a blade 22 of a large outside diameter by being cut with a dicing saw 21 provided with a multi-blade 20, and processing a core part 14A of a plurality of the optical waveguides by cutting the surface of the divided core layer with a blade 24 of a small outside diameter. Next, the inexpensive optical waveguide is manufactured by curing to fill the recess of the cut core layer 14 with the polymer resin. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
