PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stepping motor drive device that effectively controls noise superimposed on a power source. SOLUTION: This stepping motor drive device includes a bridge circuit 3, a constant current circuit 4, and a control circuit. The bridge circuit 3 is connected to the power source VB to drive the rotation of the stepping motor by conducting a drive current to a coil 2 of the stepping motor, while changing over phases. The negative feedback constant current circuit 4 monitors the drive current conducted to the coil 2, and makes the drive current of a constant level flow in the bridge circuit 3. When the phases of the drive current are changed over, and when the conduction of the drive current is turned off; the control circuit controls the constant current circuit 4 to reduce the constant level of the drive current, and then disperses a kickback voltage that is generated in the coil 2.
