PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device reducing the force necessary for clamp operation and improving durability of cam faces and operating feeling of an operating lever. SOLUTION: A third cam face 616 is formed such that the length connecting a first cam face 615 with a second cam face 614 is set longer in proportion to a distance X in the radial direction from an axial center of a through-hole 612 and such that the curvature radius R is set longer in proportion to the distance X in the radial direction. Therefore, since the overall length of the generatrix of an outer peripheral face of a cylindrical rolling element 75 is moved while brought into linear contact with the third cam face 616 all the time, this reduces contact pressure in the contact part, improves the durability of the contact part, and reduces the force necessary for operation of the operating lever 71. Meanwhile, the overall length of the generatrix of the outer peripheral face of the rolling element 75 climbs up onto the second cam face 614 in a clamping position P2 almost all together and clamping is completed.
