The unit (10) is assembled of a rail (14) to be attached to the ceiling (16) of a vehicle and several small containers (19,20) for the accommodation of useful items such as sunglasses or maps clipped to the rail. Electronic modules such as a monitor, a garage door opener or a navigation system could also be joined. Each of the containers or modules (19,20) has a flat base with integrated slots for the insertion of the complementary segment of a specifically shaped clip (22).
