PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal laminate, the metal layer of which is firmly bonded to a substrate via a polymer layer, and a simple and inexpensive manufacturing method for the metal laminate. SOLUTION: The metal laminate is characterized in that it is a laminate which is obtained by utilizing a polymer having an alkyleneimine unit with an enhanced metal reduction function and the capacity of firmly coordinating with the metal, and which is manufactured by laminating a substrate, a polymer layer containing a polymer having an alkyleneimine unit, and a metal layer. The manufacturing method for the metal laminate comprises: a step of obtaining the substrate having a surface with the polymer layer containing the polymer with the alkyleneimine unit, by eliminating a solvent after the surface of the substrate is coated with a solution containing the polymer; and a step of forming the metal layer on the polymer layer by heating a metal ion together with the substrate, after the metal ion is brought into contact with the substrate with the polymer layer, is allowed to coordinate with the alkyleneimine unit of the polymer layer and reduced.
