PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label printing/attaching device and a print control method which can keep up the high transportation speed of a conveyer as to a label printing/attaching device mounting an inexpensive thermal head whose printing speed is low. SOLUTION: This label printing/attaching device is provided with a control means for causing a lift driving means to move a thermal head downward before the print start position of a label reaches a thermal head waiting position, causing a reciprocation driving means to move the thermal head toward the downstream side in the transport direction of the label from the waiting position, causing the lift driving means to raise the thermal head after the thermal head completes printing and causing the reciprocation driving means to return the thermal head to the waiting position.
