PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigeration unit capable of increasing COP (coefficient of performance) by cooling so that substantially isothermal compression is performed in a compression stroke. SOLUTION: This refrigeration unit comprises a first piston device 20 compressing air A sucked into a cylinder 21 with fine particles of water W; a radiating heat exchanger 30 for the air A discharged from the first piston device 20; a second piston device 40 sucking and expanding the air A from the heat exchanger 30; a gas-liquid separator 50 removing the water W contained in the air A discharged from the second piston device 40; a refrigerating heat exchanger 60 in which the air A supplied from the separator 50 absorbs heat from a cooling object by heat exchange therewith; an electric motor 13 concentrically connected with the first piston device 20 and the second piston device 40 to drive them; and a phase regulator 80 controlling the phase between the first piston device 20 and the second piston device 40.
