摘要 An antioxidant is provided to reduce transmissivity of an electrochromic element when applied to the electrochromic element, and to suppress self-discharging of the electrochromic element. An antioxidant is used for an electrochromic element having an ion-conductive component(4) for suppressing self-discharging. The antioxidant consists of one or tens of sterically hindered amines. The electrochromic element comprises a first substrate(1); an optically transparent and electroconductive electrode(2) which is formed on the upper side of a substrate, and is made of an electroconductive transparent material, for example, TCO; a first electrochromic layer(3) made of the first electrochromic material; an ion conductive component having one or more antioxidants; a second electrochromic layer(5); an additional layer made of transparent and conductive material; and a sealing substrate.
