PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens control system that controls the position of a movable lens based on a rotation position of an endlessly rotatable operating member, the lens control system being designed such that even when the operating member is operated to a rotation position beyond one end of the movable range of the movable lens, a temporary target position for the movable lens corresponding to the rotation position is obtained, and a normal target position is set based on the temporary target position, and the movable lens can thereby be set to a predetermined position relative to the predetermined rotation position of the operating member. SOLUTION: The lens CPU 52 of a lens device 12 reads control data corresponding to the rotation position of an endlessly rotation focus knob 28A from a focus demand 28. Based on the control data, the CPU 52 sets a temporary value for a control output signal indicating the temporary target position of the focus. The temporary value corresponds to the rotation position of the focus knob 28A. A control output signal indicating a normal value restricted to a value within the movable range of the focus from the temporary value is transmitted to a focus module 30 used to drive the focus lens.
