FIELD: current visualization methods. ^ SUBSTANCE: as object, visualizing currents of liquid and gas, dripping cluster is suggested - formation of dozens and hundreds of coalescence-resistant micro-drops of condensate, spontaneously appearing on free surface of open layer of evaporating liquid. Miniature size and capacity of drops to move across liquid surface practically without friction make them extremely sensitive to air currents. A set of cluster drops visualizes structure of gas flows at boundary with liquid surface with spatial resolution of order of one hundredth shares of millimeter, while each drop realizes functions of sensor, by its size signaling about physical conditions at its location. ^ EFFECT: increased efficiency. ^ 2 dwg |
