The support has an upper section, which is a tubular prolongation (3) of a weapon housing that is open to front and back. A lower section is a projection (5), which expands backwardly and downward and extends from rear over a part of the shoulder support. The sections are formed as single piece injection molding part (1), which is covered by a shaft cap (7). The cap is made up of plastic, rubber or soft elastomer and has a front circumferential edge overlapping a rear circumferential edge of the molding part.
