摘要

An optical fiber comprising an inner core section, an outer core layer formed on the outer circumference of the inner core section and having a refractive index lower than that of the inner core section, and a clad layer formed on the outer circumference of the outer core layer and having a refractive index higher than that of the outer core layer. Outside diameter of the inner core section is enlarged and refractive index of the outer core layer is decreased, and a central core section having a refractive index lower than that of the inner core section but higher than that of the outer core layer is formed in the center of the inner core section. Since an effective core cross-sectional area is enlarged while sustaining wavelength dispersion value and bending loss, an optical fiber having an extremely large effective core cross-sectional area and sustaining conventional wavelength dispersion value and bending loss is provided.
