<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a user's convenience by shortening time required for return by carrying out a reverse bias control only when there is a possibility of toner sticking to a secondary transfer roller in a return process of an image forming apparatus after releasing of jamming. <P>SOLUTION: Developer removal control removing developer attached to a transfer means is not performed in the image forming apparatus after detection of a jamming release by a jamming release detection means in response to the jamming occurring when the transfer means is separated from an intermediate transfer body. However the developer removal control is performed after detection of jamming release by a jamming release detection means in response to the jamming occurring when the transfer means comes into contact with the intermediate transfer body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
