PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material provided with sufficient strength to obtain satisfactory handling properties, e.g., when a device member is subjected to molding or is fitted to a device, and capable of exhibiting high thermal conductivity and electric conductivity which are characteristic of high purity aluminum at very low temperature. SOLUTION: The cold worked material is obtained by subjecting a high purity aluminum material to cold working. The high purity aluminum material has a silicon content (C<SB>Si</SB>) of≤30 mass ppm, an iron content (C<SB>Fe</SB>) of≤2 mass ppm, a copper content (C<SB>Cu</SB>) of≤3 mass ppm, and, regarding the other specified elements, the total content is≤3 mass ppm, and the content of each element is≤1 mass ppm. After the cold working at a cold working temperature of≤50°C, the high purity aluminum material is held at a holding temperature T(°C) in the range of 80 to 300°C for 0.5 to 240 hr to obtain the cold worked material, wherein the cold working ratio W(%) satisfies 1.5×(C<SB>Si</SB>+C<SB>Fe</SB>+C<SB>Cu</SB>)-(T/10)+65≤W≤99.
