Interactive picture and sound transmission method involves video signal of a source picture and bi-directional audio signals of a headset (41) which is supplied by an audio-video encoder (17) in the hospital's own computer network inside the operating room of a hospital. Picture presentation and a bi-directional audio connection are enabled by means of standard browser software of the computer attached to the computer network. An independent claim is also included for the interactive picture and sound transmission device.
