PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ladle, wherein the quality of a cast slab and the yield of molten steel can be improved by preventing the flowing-out of slag in the ladle into a tundish at the pouring end stage from the ladle into the tundish in a continuous casting process. SOLUTION: The ladle 1 for continuous casting has a molten steel flowing-out hole 5 formed at the bottom part and a projecting part where the portion of the bottom part setting this molten steel flowing-out hole, is projected downward in the perpendicular direction from the other bottom part, wherein when the depth of the above projecting part is denoted as (h) and the maximum molten steel depth in the case of holding the maximum holding capacity of the molten steel, is denoted as H, the ratio of both (h/H) is in the range of 0.075-0.15. Further, when the volume of the projecting part is denoted as V<SB>s</SB>and the volume of the ladle in the case of holding the maximum holding capacity of the molten steel, is denoted as V<SB>o</SB>, the ratio of both (V<SB>s</SB>/V<SB>o</SB>) is in the range of 0.002-0.015.
