PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a double negative resistance characteristic by possibly reducing the space between electrodes to make a high efficiency in the middle of the water electrolysis study, using silver-plated nets with the consideration of insulators, etc. between the electrodes, and oxidizing the silver itself as an electric conductor. SOLUTION: Two platinum electrodes are set in an electrolyte solution so that both electrodes may not directly contact, several silver-plated nets are wound around each electrode, and one electrode is arranged possibly closer to the other. The surface of silver of the plated net is previously oxidized. For reproducing a double negative resistance characteristic, the electrodes are set according to the procedure of water electrolysis, and a DC voltage is applied to the two electrodes and increased to realize this characteristic. The current begins to lower from a second current peak to a minimum current point, and the water electrolysis begins at a third current rising start point. When the voltage lowers in the beginning of the water electrolysis, the negative resistance characteristic appears only once. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
