PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery cabinet which can detect breakage of a cabinet wall including local breakage, and the breakage due to penetration of foreign matters into the cabinet, and provide a battery pack having high safety. SOLUTION: This is the battery cabinet 10 inside which batteries 100 or battery packs 70 composed of electrically connecting a plurality of the batteries 100 are housed, and which is provided with a pair of conductive plates 21, 22 arranged inside the cabinet wall in a state that both are made to be separated from each other and electrically insulated, a conduction detecting means 30 for detecting conduction when electrical conduction is achieved between the conductive plates 21, 22, and a breakage detection means 40 for detecting the breakage of the cabinet wall based on the conduction detection of the conduction detecting means 30 are provided.
