The invention concerns a protective device against an impact with a vehicle comprising a speed detector and an obstacle sensor as well as an active damping member, said active damping member being adapted to extend outside the vehicle, said obstacle sensor being adapted to detect an obstacle located in a perimeter extending form a predetermined point of said vehicle and to produce a first control signal upon detection of such an obstacle located in said perimeter, said speed detector being adapted to produce a second control signal when the detected speed exceeds a predetermined value. Said device further comprises a triggering unit adapted to receive said first and second control signals and to be shifted into active mode after receiving said second control signal as well as to produce a first triggering signal upon reception in active mode of the first control signal, said active damping member being adapted to be activated under the control of the first triggering signal. |
