PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rocking compressor capable of high pressure compression and of causing compressed fluid to escape in a compression chamber during a stop while reducing manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: On a piston portion 18 of a rocking piston 14, a piston ring 24 is mounted via a ring groove 23. Thus, the inexpensive rocking piston 14 is used for gaining high pressure and escaping pressure in the compression chamber between the ring groove 23 and the piston ring 24 during stopping. A rotation restricting member 25 which has a protruded portion 26 on the side of the ring groove 23 fitted to a fitting recessed portion 27 on the side of the piston ring 24 is provided for positioning a fragile mating portion 24E and the fitting recessed portion 27 at places deviating from the rocking directions (arrow marks A, A') of the piston 14.
