<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface mount type connector aiming at reduction of size and weight, capable of increasing a displacing amount of a contact. <P>SOLUTION: The connector to be fixed on a printed wiring board has housings 1, 5 and a plurality of contacts 2, 3 held on the housings 1, 5. Concave parts 8 for insertion, in which a body to be connected 7 having a plurality of contact parts are inserted in nearly lateral direction, capable of housing the the body to be connected 7, is formed on the housings 1, 5, and the plurality of contact parts of the body to be connected 7 are connected to contact parts 25, 35 of corresponding contacts 2, 3 respectively.
