PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an image processing apparatus of a small hardware size, which outputs two colors. SOLUTION: In S2, an R<SB>1</SB>data of an input image data is let intact as an R<SB>2</SB>data, and processing for averaging a G<SB>1</SB>data and a B<SB>1</SB>data is performed. In S3, the magnitude between the R<SB>2</SB>data and the averaged G<SB>2</SB>(or B<SB>2</SB>) data is compared. When (1) G<SB>2</SB>>R<SB>2</SB>, it is decided that a point (R<SB>2</SB>, G<SB>2</SB>, B<SB>2</SB>) is located outside a triangle plane KRW area, while when (2) G<SB>2</SB>≤R<SB>2</SB>, it is decided that the point (R<SB>2</SB>, G<SB>2</SB>, B<SB>2</SB>) is located inside the triangle plane KRW area. The triangle plane KRW is formed by connecting a non-color axis with a vertex of R. When the decision in S3 results in (1), by proceeding to S4, a point (R<SB>2</SB>, G<SB>2</SB>, B<SB>2</SB>) is mapped on the non-color axis (K-W). The entire G<SB>2</SB>data and B<SB>2</SB>data become the same as the R<SB>2</SB>data, so as to output.
