The invention concerns a system for transporting a span on a road vehicle capable of being transformed into an amphibious vehicle enabling the crossing of a dry or water-filled gap by any road vehicle. The invention is characterized in that the vehicle (1) for transporting the span (2) is amphibious to allow any vehicle to cross a gap filled with water by transferring and transporting said vehicle on the span (2) supported on the amphibious vehicle (1) operating as a floating ferry.
