PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing coke, capable of more improving strength of the coke than ever, when a binding material is mixed into coal. SOLUTION: This method for producing the coke comprises mixing the binding material into the coal, wherein an average particle diameter of the binding material is controlled. It is preferable that the binding material is pulverized solely, or is pulverized together with the coal. The coal preferably has an average particle diameter of not more than 4.6 mm when the coal is pulverized. The binding material is preferably mixed into the coal in an amount of not more than 5%.
