PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide display screens easily observed by a user in an onboard information terminal which displays various interrupting screens, regardless of changes in tones of screens due to interruption display. SOLUTION: When the information terminal receives VICS (vehicle information communication system) information, it determines, based on an illumination signal output from the vehicle, the luminous energy of a backlight (step S20) to be changed if the illumination signal is output from the vehicle. The terminal performs control to change the luminous energy of the backlight (step S30), and then displays an interruption image by the VICS information (step S40). After a predetermined period passes (step S50), the terminal returns the luminous energy of the backlight to the initial state (step S60) to erase the interruption image (step S70).
