An assembling apparatus of a steel reinforcing bar coupler is provided to increase productivity, and to connect the steel reinforcing bar firmly by pressing and fitting a wedge with a hydraulic pump and a hydraulic cylinder and simply assembling the steel reinforcing bar coupler. A steel reinforcing bar coupler assembling apparatus(20) includes a couple of support blocks(21,23) moving into or far from each other, a link(31) connecting the support blocks, a hydraulic cylinder(35) relatively moving the support blocks, a cylinder support unit(45) supporting the hydraulic cylinder to the link, and a hydraulic pump(51) transferring actuating fluid to the hydraulic cylinder. Press heads(25,27) are arranged in parallel and formed at ends of the support blocks to press and fit wedges(17,17') of a sleeve(15) between covers and the sleeve, and elongated holes(25a,27a) are formed in the press heads to move steel reinforcing bars(5,5') in and out. A holder(61) having a receiving groove(61a) is formed between the support blocks to move and support the sleeve.
