<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily producing a composite porous body which is made of a thin porous body impregnated with a resin and excellent in flexibility. <P>SOLUTION: The composite porous body 10 has metal foil 4 and an oxide particle structure 1 which is constituted of an oxide particle OP group and has holes communicating with the outside. An oxide particle structure 2 is joined to the metal foil 4 through an oxidation film formed on the surface of the metal foil 4. The composite porous body 10 is made flexible by filling the holes of the oxide particle structure 2 with the resin. The porosity of the oxide particle structure 2 is preferably 20-80%.
