PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output multicast route in which branch does not occur in a unicast transmitter while reducing a cost for linking from a transmission side transmitter to each of reception side transmitters, even in a communication network in which multicast transmitters and unicast transmitters coexist.

SOLUTION: In this method, searching starts at a transmission side transmitter. When a unicast transmitter is found during searching; branch is suppressed to reduce the cost for link, and specific priority is given to approach the resolution of a multicast route to be obtained, thereby deciding one route. In this way, the cost can be reduced for link from the transmitter to each of receivers, and multicast route not branching in the unicast transmitter can be obtained.
