PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin care preparation for external use exhibiting excellent effects for improving or treating a state of skin which is damaged or suffers from deficiency, and to provide a skin care preparation for external use exhibiting excellent preservation stability of an effective ingredient in addition to the improving or treating effects. SOLUTION: The skin care preparation for external use comprises (i) 0.2-2 mass% of allantoin and/or an allantoin analogue, (ii) 1-5 mass% of panthenol and/or a panthenol analogue and (iii) 0.5-2 mass% of diphenhydramine or a salt thereof. Alternatively, the skin care preparation for external use comprises (iv) 1-50 mass% of a polyhydric alcohol and (v) 0.1-10 mass% of a nonionic surfactant in addition to the combination of the effective ingredients above.
