PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for filling a nozzle hole with a liquid contained in a liquid storage part upto the apex of the nozzle aperture in an easy and rapid process. SOLUTION: This method is one for filling the nozzle aperture (26) of a liquid droplet discharge head (10) with a liquid upto the apex of the former. The method comprises following processes: a first process to supply the liquid to a liquid storage part (16); a second process to bring a capping means (60) covering the nozzle aperture (26) into contact closely with the nozzle aperture forming surface (12) and form a space (66) between the capping means (60) and the nozzle aperture forming surface (12); a third process to deposit the liquid droplet discharge head (10) and the capping means (60) inside a closed container (A) and reduce the internal pressure of the closed container (A) until the sufficient internal pressure reduction of the space (66) is achieved; and a fourth process to open the closed container (A) and suck the liquid from the nozzle aperture (26), using the pressure difference of the inside and the outside of the capping means (60), generated by keeping the interior of the space (66) in a reduced pressure state and allow the liquid to reach the apex of the nozzle aperture (26).
