PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paste coating device capable of avoiding fluctuation in the amount of coating even if the height of the coating position varies. SOLUTION: A dispenser is lowered at a high speed (S1), when the dispenser reaches a search area (S2), the descending speed is changed to a low speed (S3) and further the judgment on whether a discharge section 4 of a dispenser lands on a lead frame or not is made (S4). When the landing is confirmed, the dispenser is raised at a low speed by a predetermined distance (S3), and the discharge of the paste from the discharge section of the dispenser starts (S6). While the discharge state is being kept, the dispenser is raised at a low speed (S7), and when the dispenser is raised by a predetermined distance (S8), the discharge of paste is stopped (9).
