FILTRATION MEDIA AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

A filtration medium in which ultra-fine fibers are uniformly coated on a fiber substrate by electro-spinning method so that the filtration media is excellent in air permeability and filtration efficiency and has low pressure loss, and a method of manufacturing the same are provided. A filtration medium has a three layer structure comprising a fiber substrate(A), an ultra-fine fiber layer(B) in which ultra-fine fibers with an average diameter of 0.05 to 5.0 mum are coated on the fiber substrate in a unit weight of 0.1 to 15 g/m^2 and a nonwoven fabric(C) formed on the ultra-fine fiber layer and satisfies physical properties, 8 to 22 cc/cm^2/sec of air permeability, 2 to 10 mmH2O of pressure drop and 99.9% or more of filtration efficiency, at the same time. The fiber substrate is a nonwoven fabric, a woven fabric, or a knit fabric. The nonwoven fabric has a thickness of 1 to 60 mum.
