Safety system for automotive vehicle and process for the protection of the occupants

A safety system for front seats, especially in forward control utility vehicles, has the seats on a rearward sliding mounting operated by cable pulls (30) looped over reels (36) fitted to the back of the cab. The other ends of the cable pulls are secured on chassis mountings. In the event of a collision the safety system pulls the front seats towards the rear of the cab with the steering column and controls remaining fixed in position.
