PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system allowing to correct a plurality of parameters using one standard signal. SOLUTION: In the apparatus for measuring the characteristics of a device under test connected through a signal transmission line having reciprocity, with the end on the device-under-test side of the signal transmission line opened, a pulse signal is transmitted to the end on the measuring-apparatus side of the signal transmission line. The transmitted pulse signal is observed at the measuring-apparatus side to perform spectral analysis. The pulse signal reflected off the end on the device-under-test side of the signal transmission line is observed at the measuring-apparatus side to perform spectral analysis. By referring to a coefficient obtained on the basis of the impedance of a resistive load, the spectrum of the transmitted pulse signal, and the spectrum of the reflected pulse signal, the frequency characteristics or the propagation delay amount of the signal transmission line is determined. By using the frequency characteristics or the propagation delay amount determined in the actual measurement, the influence of errors is removed from a measured value. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
