Provided is an alumino-phosphate glass containing copper(II) oxide useful for light filtering showing very uniform and high permeability at visible range but low permeability and sharp absorption edge at near-infrared range, and excellent chemical resistance under raised temperature and high relative humidity, thereby being efficiently applied in CCD and CMOS camera, detectors, etc. The alumino-phosphate glass comprises 65-80% of P2O5, 4-20% of Al2O3, 0-5% of SiO2, less than 5.5% of B2O3, 0-2.1% of Y2O3, 0-2.1% of La2O3, 0-7.9% of MgO, 0-2.5% of CaO, 0-2.5% of SrO, 0-2.5% of BaO, 0-8% of ZnO, less than 18% of [Sigma]R'O, 2-12.5% of Li2O, 0-6% of Na2O, 0-4% of K2O, 0-2.5% of Rb2O, 0-2.5% of Cs2O, 2-5% of [Sigma]R"2O, 4-24% of [Sigma]R"'2O3, 5-15% of CuO, 0-0.5% of V2O5, and 5-15% of ([Sigma]CuO + V2O5), wherein [Sigma]R'O is sum of ZnO and all of alkali-earth metal oxides, [Sigma]R"2O is sum of all of alkali-earth metal oxides and [Sigma]R"'2O3 is sum of all of R"'2O3 with R"' being Al, B, Y or La.
