PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain proper display according to the change of the circumstances of a remote place. SOLUTION: This road information communication system is provided with a display 89, a PC 11 and a center server 31 arranged in a remote place. A center server 31 performs user authentication based on log-in information received from the PC 11 through the Internet 2, and transmits a screen for instructing display to the PC 11. When a connection request for instructing the display of the desired display 89 is made by the PC 11, the center server 31 establishes its connection with a portable telephone network 6 based on the preregistered connection information of a communication unit 81 to which the display 89 is connected. After the connection is established, the center server 31 transmits CH. number for prescribing desired display contents through the portable telephone network 6 and the communication unit 81 to the display 89 by TCP socket communication to display on the display 89.
