PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect an acceleration provided to a vehicle component precisely and inexpensively. SOLUTION: An acceleration detecting device 100 comprises; a spring 140 disposed at the lower section of a housing 120; a curved surface holding member 130 which is made convex upward in the form of a dish and disposed on the spring 140; a spherical body 150 disposed on the curved surface holding member 130; and a rib (A) 110A and a rib (B) 110b for regulating the position of the spherical body 150 by at least two points at the upper section of the housing 120. The spherical body 150 is mounted on the curved surface holding member 130, while being supported by one point thereon and regulated in its position by at least two points at the upper section of the housing 120. In such the state that the spherical body is supported by the three points, the state can be maintained unless the acceleration is provided, and the spherical body 150 shifts from its original position if the provided acceleration is not less than the maximum acceptable value.
