PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solubilize a water-insoluble non-cationic antimicrobial agent to give an excellent antiplaque effect by supplying an oral gel composition containing the water-insoluble non-cationic antimicrobial agent and a specific antibacterial-enhancing agent to a dental implant area with a syringe. SOLUTION: This method for applying an antibacterial oral composition to a dental implant area comprises charging an oral gel composition into a dental syringe and subsequently extruding the oral gel composition from the syringe into contact with the dental implant area including interfaces between gum surfaces and the dental implans. The oral gel composition has a viscosity of 150×10<3> to 360×10<3> cPs, and comprises (A) a water-insoluble non-cationic antibacterial agent (preferably 2,4,4'-trichloro-2'-hydroxyldiphenyl ether), (B) an organic surfactant, (C) a flavor oil-solubilizing substance for dissolving the component A in a saliva. and (D) 0.005-6 wt.% of an antibacterial-enhancing agent having both a functional group enhancing the delivery of the component A to oral surfaces and an effective retention-enhancing group enhancing the adhesion of the component A to the oral surfaces (preferably maleic acid anhydride-methylvinylether copolymer).
