PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic photographic device which makes a vertically long projection image reflected in catch light inconspicuous. SOLUTION: The automatic photographic device has an illuminator 13 having a diffusion board 60, a vertically long camera unit 19 and a horizontally long light shielding board 66. A camera unit 19 is provided at the center part of the diffusion board 60. The light shielding board 66 is provided so as to cross the camera unit 19. When the automatic photographic device photographs an object, a projected image of the horizontally long light shielding board 66 crossed with the vertically long projected image is projected together with the projected image of the vertically long camera unit 19 in the catch light reflected on eyes of the object.
