PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pile driver capable of positioning a steady brace device liftable along as leader in the optional height. SOLUTION: This pile driver has a steady brace device 20 for slidably supporting a rod so that the rotation-imparted rod 120 performs work such as excavation by straightly advancing without horizontal sway by a work device lifting along the leader 10; and is constituted so that its steady brace device 20 is liftably installed on the leader 10, and is suspended by a wire rope, and is lifted by winding feeding by a winch, and a rack 12 is formed in the leader 10, and the steady brace device 20 has a positioning means 33 meshing with its rack and an operation means 35 for operating its positioning means 33, and the operation means 35 puts the positioning means 33 in an immovable state to the rack 12 in the predetermined height.
