<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preferable image for obtaining the state of an apparatus by a user in an image forming apparatus for mounting a plurality of developing devices storing the same-color tone to form images, and to provide its forming method. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus outputs a status sheet SS2 expressing the state of each part and each developing device of the apparatus at need. In order to clear a boundary between band-like patters, the image forming pattern provides a visible gap between the four band-like patterns 401, 402, 403 and 404 formed to use each of four black developing devices. In addition, the image forming apparatus displays a symbol 453 for specifying the developing device used for formation of the respective band-like pattern in the vicinity of the upper end of each band-like pattern. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
